WHY GO? To embrace the elements. Familiar landscapes evoke emotion. This inspiring group exhibition captures symbolic landscapes through painting, sculpture, photography and video, taking us on a voyage of discovery. Thirty‑five artists—including globally famous names like Georgia O’Keeffe and Isamu Noguchi—are exhibited together to create a whirlwind of images that arrest the senses. Misty green forests, scraggy rocks and open plains—some realistic, others filtered through technology—invite curiosity and imagination. Alien Shores can be taken literally or metaphorically; either way stunning images inspire our love of the planet. A gallery quote, “The only truly alien planet is Earth,” as expressed by writer JG Ballard, aptly summarises the theme. Curated by Susanna Greeves, the show is about our attachment to landscape through diverse artists and offers much to dream about.
IN THE KNOW Continuing the planetary theme, a mini show Bakish Mai by Peruvian artist Sara Flores sits alongside the main exhibition. It introduces her complex abstract paintings representing Kene, an ancient medium indigenous to Shipibo‑Conibo culture. Flores recently collaborated with fashion house Dior.
