The New Summer Twin Set:

Why We Love the Co-Ord

When it’s simply too hot for complicated layers, there’s no time to work out what goes with what and it’s way too late in the season to buy something you’ll only wear once… welcome the co-ord.

Matching sets have become one of summer’s strongest stories, and it’s easy to see why. Worn together, they have all the impact of a successful summer dress, but they feel looser, cooler and far less predictable. Split them up and suddenly you have twice as many outfits, which makes a good co-ord one of the smartest things you can pack for a holiday.

Mint Velvet’s red geometric print set gets the balance just right. The fabric is light, fluid and loose enough for a heatwave, while its graphic chain print, strengthened by bold cream panels, has summer written all over it. Worn together for work (with heels), at the weekend (with sandals) or barefoot on the beach, the combination of a matching shirt and wide-leg trousers feels modern, relaxed and completely pulled together. Add a pair of sculptural cream mules and this look could even feel smart enough for a summer wedding, long lunch or evening occasion without losing that easy, breezy mood.

Of course, you don’t always have to make them match. Team your trousers with a simple white vest and flat leather sandals during the day, then add an easy cream blazer and statement earrings when the sun goes down. The elasticated waist makes them comfortable enough for travelling, while the wide legs won't cling in the heat.

And then there’s your shirt... wear it loose and open over a white bikini, sling it over a red swimsuit on the way to the pool or tuck it fully into the matching trousers when you want a top-to-toe finish. Roll back your sleeves, pop your collar, tie it in a knot at your waist or give it a loose French tuck with white jeans and jelly sandals. It has enough oomph to carry an outfit on its own, while its oversized shape ensures it always feels relaxed not over-styled.

Do you dare to add jewellery? Go full throttle with a bold statement necklace, but keep your shoes and bag understated in cool, low-key cream.

Own it, match it and wear it with confidence... looks like you're set for the rest of the summer.

Summer’s New Slip-ons

Sometimes you don't know it's the last time you're going to do something until the next time you instinctively reach for something else. Dresses with trainers? Babe… it's been and gone.

One day you were happily wearing trainers with every dress you owned and the next, it just started to feel so off. It isn't that they've suddenly become wrong, they've simply become predictable and we’re more or less, totally over it. Summer dressing has moved on and the mood has shifted towards something softer, smarter and a little more sophisticated.

So when sandals don't feel substantial enough and loafers seem too heavy in the heat, where do you turn? Back to your ballet pumps... or is there something even better?

Oh hello ARKET… these white leather pumps have taken all the good bits from your trainers to feel cool and comfortable, but with the cute curves of your favourite ballet pumps. Clean lines, a rounded toe and an elasticated finish keep them looking refined and nothing looks more luxurious than immaculate white leather.  Keep them ‘box fresh’ and they’ll last the distance. They’ll sharpen up white jeans and an embroidered blouse for work, bring tailored shorts and a striped blazer bang up to date, and look just as good with a white cotton dress on that weekend away. They'll slip off effortlessly at airport security, feel comfortable throughout a flight and still look immaculate when you land for lunch.

The secret to keeping them looking stylish…? Never let them get scuffed. Crisp white leather is what gives these shoes clout, so love them, look after them and never wear them on a late night out.

Style them up with a striped blazer, a white cotton maxi dress, pearl and gold hoop earrings and Chloé's woven raffia tote.

Relaxed without looking lazy, practical without sacrificing polish and modern without much effort… this Summer, you’re going to wear them everywhere.

The Tasselled Shirt

There are days when tailoring feels way too serious but a T-shirt simply isn't enough and this is exactly when an embroidered blouse is exactly what you’re looking for. Relaxed not rigid, look for a style that has the easiness of your favourite shirt but with those extra fashion-forward details that really give it clout.  This Marks & Spencer's tasselled, version ticks every box.  With a modern boxy shape, tonal embroidery and long swaying tassels you’ll bring your outfit back to life with a swishy bit of movement that makes every step feel so much sexier than an everyday blouse.

It’s versatile and it’s a clever buy you can reinvent every time you wear it. Roll up your sleeves and wear it loose over summer shorts at a festival, or let it swing over loose, tailored trousers for the office, or knot a silk scarf at your neck with slim black trousers and pointed pumps, when you’re searching for something smarter.

For a summery, casual spin, style it with silky ruffled shorts, angular Jacquemus sunglasses, a raffia drawstring bag and this season’s must-have woven loafers. It's that elusive middle ground that always looks the most stylish… dressed up enough to impress, but like you barely even tried.

The All Weather Trench

Every smart woman owns a white trench and, frankly, why wouldn't she? It has all the polish of smart tailoring, it ticks the work, weekend and even off-duty box, but the best bit, it never fails to impress. Throw it over a floral dress for a summer wedding, wear it with a crochet polo and denim shorts for a casual lunch or loose and easy over an oversized shirt and tailored trousers to the office.

The woman that knows how to pull this off is stylish, contemporary and confident enough to know she’s never spilling coffee down it before her first business meeting.

This is the kind of layer that makes the rest of your wardrobe feel smarter in seconds with minimal lines, a softer drape and longer length which instantly sharpens up whatever sits underneath. And because white works with absolutely everything, you'll be styling it up from now until November. One minute it's with sandals, the next it's with your new season boots: some pieces never go out of fashion and the summer trench is one of those key pieces you simply shouldn’t live without.

Oh hello summer!  We’ve been waiting for you… and what better way to enjoy these long awaited days than with a fringed, denim jacket.

Every season, it’s worth investing in once piece you can guarantee, every time you wear it, it’s going to get everybody talking.  There’s always something so irresistible about fringing… the way it moves, swishes and gives that extra bit of sass to everything else in your wardrobe.

Style it over a flowing white dress, matching denim shorts or sling it on over a tone on tone bikini… with a little nod to Western, a subtle hint of 70s and a whole heap of confidence you’ll be the star of this summer’s show.

The trick to getting it right?  The contrast.  Leave the cowboy boots behind… with a cropped, boxy shape you can wear this iconic jacket with wider leg pants, an easy maxi skirt, high waisted shorts, even a indigo denim cap and you don’t need much else.  Simple woven flats, up-to-the-minute sunglasses and a swing in your step…  Go get ‘em girl. Every time you wear it, you know you will.

Fringe Benefits: Summer’s Most Sought After Denim Jacket

The Ultimate Shirt Dress

It’s a fact: the most stylish women rarely wear the loudest clothes.

Fashion trends can come and go, but the women who always look the most impressive tend to rely on something far simpler: beautifully cut pieces, great proportions and an understanding that less is usually more. A dress doesn't need a bold print, dramatic sleeves, frilly details or a complicated silhouette to make an impact. Sometimes all it takes is the right length, the right fabric and a contemporary shape that makes you look and feel good, every time you wear it.

And that’s why a shirt dress always works. No, it’s not especially trendy, but yet season after season it remains one of the smartest things you can buy because it always makes an impact and it will never let you down.

It doesn't matter about your shape, height or age; somehow it just works. Worn loose and easy, it couldn’t be more comfortable and will skim perfectly over your body, or style it with a belt and roll back your sleeves to show you really mean business at work. Unbutton it over a white swimsuit on holiday, throw it over rolled-up, boyfriend jeans and espadrilles for lunch, or wear it open over white denim shorts and a simple vest when the temperature starts to soar.

Pale, baby blue is the perfect shade… it’s understated and it will go with everything.  You don’t need loud prints or head-to-toe brights, just one low-key colour that gives the nod to all your other layers to happily do their thing. Style it with cobalt blue accessories, silver jewellery or even raffia details to give it a contemporary summer spin.

Stacked bangles are making their comeback and mesh mules will amplify a more directional finish. Add confident, colourful underwear underneath, button it up, button it down, push up your sleeves and undo a few buttons at the hem.  Work, weekend or over a bikini on holiday, this is the dress that will really do it’s job, for every occasion.

The Necklace
You Need Now

Last summer it was shells, this spring we were still seeing starfish… and now? Fashion has fallen hook, line and sinker for the fish.

From jewellery and charms to raffia accessories, this seaside-inspired motif is the latest catch to give your wardrobe a summery spin. No it doesn’t need to look whimsical, when it’s teamed with a chunky pearl necklace, it earns its place as a key player amongst your go to summer accessories.

Worn with a woven cream cardigan, co-ord knitted shorts and shimmering gold sandals, a fish pendant gives a little polish to those holiday-ready pieces so you can wear them comfortably in the city without feeling underdressed.

A single charm necklace against sun-kissed skin is forecast as one of summer’s biggest trends.  And what would look better with a strapless dress, a raffia clutch tucked under your arm and textured slides. Or add a little gloss to a simple white tee and a pair of well-cut culottes.

What’s the catch? It’s fun, it’s fashionable and guaranteed to become the talking point at long work lunches, weekends away and that holiday that hasn't happened yet. Who’s not going to notice! Are you hooked?

How to Wear Bold Colour

Spring may have had a long love affair with cream, beige, chocolate brown and butter yellow but now the sun is finally out, fashion is feeling ready to embrace colour again. No, not head-to-toe prints or complicated clashing shades, but one confident hit of colour that makes a big impact.  This cobalt blue strapless dress does exactly that.

The beauty of this dress is its simplicity. The silhouette is easy, flattering and surprisingly versatile, giving you endless ways to wear it, depending on where the day takes you. Add silver floral earrings and jelly ballet flats for a fashion-forward twist, throw on a matching linen jacket when the temperature drops or finish with a textured bag for an off-beat finish.

The easiest way to wear it? Keep everything else simple. Stick with tone-on-tone shades, clean, minimal cuts and natural fabrics. A cobalt blue dress with silver jewellery, a bright bag against white linen or a bold shade balanced with natural textures like raffia, cotton and linen. Suddenly colour feels less intimidating and far easier to wear.

The beauty of a strong colour is that it doesn't need much help. It draws everyone’s eye, lifts the simplest outfit and somehow makes your tan look better too. These are the pieces proving that sometimes one bold choice is all your wardrobe needs… you just need to wear it with confidence.

CECILIE BAHNSEN X UNIQLO: The Red Dress Everyone Will Be Buying This Week

See you later smart clothes… there’s been a big shift and we couldn’t welcome it more. It’s been very sad to say goodbye to brands like LK Bennett, Cefinn and Goat who have all gone, but structured shifts, cropped boucle jackets and perfect pencil skirts just haven’t hit the spot this side of Covid. After years of sharp tailoring, hard accessories and outfits that looked slightly too ‘done’, fashion is starting to feel lighter, easier and much more relaxed. Fuller skirts, softer fabrics, flatter shoes, even bigger earrings, and now it’s a woven basket, rather than a Birkin, that gets you from the meetings to the margaritas. Clothes are becoming romantic again, but in a far more grown-up way.

And nobody does that balance better than Cecilie Bahnsen. Her clothes always have volume, drama and femininity, but they never feel impossible to wear in real life. Paired with Uniqlo’s cleaner, more functional approach to fashion, this collaboration feels genuinely clever because it gives sculptured pieces a certain softness with a very wearable, everyday feel. These are pieces that look and feel special, but they work just as well on holiday as they do running around the city in thirty degree heat.

What’s the stand out piece? The red shirred dress. The colour alone makes it feel fresher and more striking than another easy neutral. Fitted and flared, this dress is definitely versatile. Imagine gold earrings and kitten heels for work, tan leather slides and a woven basket for the weekend, or ballet pumps and oversized sunnies at the airport. It’s going to work, every time your wear it.

The collection launches at 7am on May 28th and you can’t have more than two pieces per colour. Set your alarm.

The Modern Statement Earrings

That Will Go With Everything

There’s something interesting happening on the high street… after years of obvious trends, loud luxury and algorithm dressing, fashion suddenly feels softer, calmer and much more relaxed again. The pieces women really want now aren’t complicated or over-styled; they’re easy, elegant and slightly undone. Easyfront-pleat trousers, soft draping, wearable mules, a beautiful buttery soft bucket bag and jewellery that looks sculptural rather than sparkly. Women are looking for pieces that feel as though they belong to someone with excellent taste and who got dressed in five minutes flat. And perhaps that’s why collaborations are suddenly feeling relevant again…

This month alone we’ve had Hailey Bieber’s Californian inspired collection with Mango, the return of Stella McCartney at H&M and the announcement of Cecilie Bahnsen’s upcoming collaboration with Uniqlo. Even John Lewis has entered the conversation, launching an exclusive collection with Completedworks that brings the jewellery brand’s sculptural pearls and twisted organic shapes to a much wider audience. What links all of them together is a certain kind of modern ease. Nothing feels overly polished or aggressively trend-led, but instead, we’re moving towards pieces that look lived-in, loved and luxurious.

There’s also a noticeable shift away from looking hard; black has softened into cream, chocolate and butter yellow, whilst pastels have become the new brights. Tailoring has relaxed and silhouettes have loosened… summer clothes are becoming lighter, airier and much less formal. You still want to look stylish, but comfort has also become key. No one wants to see you fiddling with your neckline so it sits comfortably… or a waistband that means you can’t breathe. Shapes have shifted and silhouettes are softer than they’ve ever been. Statement earrings, draped separates and an easy pair of mules… these are the pieces making summer dressing feel lighter, more luxurious and infinitely more relaxed.

The White Shirt Your Summer Wardrobe
Has Been Waiting For

There’s something about a bright white shirt that always looks expensive. Cleaner than cream, crisper than ecru, it’s flattering against your skin and it’s the piece that will always rescue your wardrobe when you’ve got ‘nothing to wear’. What’s the key to getting it right? A loose fit, a fluid fabric and a bright white finish.

Don’t make it too polished and avoid being too predictable… make it look up to the minute, make it look modern and make it work with everything in your wardrobe. It’s your wear-me-anywhere shirt - it works with tailoring at work, with draw-string linen trousers at the weekend, with your best barrel jeans in the city… it even works on the beach.

It’s versatile in the way the best clothes always are; it may seem like the simplest piece in your wardrobe, but it’s actually doing most of the work. Understated and slightly sheer and sexy, wear it with a lace cami underneath, a modern pair of micro-heels, oversized earrings and a basket big enough to suggest you’ve got somewhere better to be straight after.
Wear the scarf loose and just let it do its thing. Loose, relaxed and luxurious, create contrast with your hair and scrape it back with a centre parting and let your shirt steal the show.

Love it and look after it… as long as it stays white, you’re winning. And let’s face it - it’s already paid for itself.

This isn’t just a trench. It’s Victoria Beckham’s trench and suddenly a brand that felt familiar, feels sharper, sleeker and just a little bit sexier. With a clean cut, loose fit and stripped of anything fussy, it does that thing great basics rarely manage… it makes everything underneath it look better. Jeans feel cooler, tailoring feels easier, even the simplest white tee starts pulling its weight.

It’s classic with a kick. Properly polished and perfectly cut, it’s the kind of coat you can throw on half-asleep and you’ll still get stopped to ask where it’s from. Add a striped shirt with subtle embellishment, draw-string denim in a modern shape, a chunky chain necklace for a little drama and understated trainers to keep it all grounded: nothing competing, everything clicking.

It’s less ‘outfit’ and more ownership. Throw it on, style it up, stride out… you’ll be wearing this one for months.

Victoria Beckham Does GAP:

The Modern Take on the Trench

The Dress You’ll Wear Everywhere

This is the sort of piece that answers a long list of wardrobe worries. An important meeting, a lunch that matters, something slightly more special when you still want to feel like yourself… it covers all of the above without ever feeling overdone. You don’t find dresses like this everyday - but when you do, they’re definitely worth buying.
With a flattering in-and-out shape, this dress feels far less formal in cotton making it easy to wear from morning through to night. It’s polished, fashion-forward and doesn’t feel fussy, which is exactly the balance you’ve been looking for.
An elegant wave trim adds some personality without pushing it too far - keep it simple and you’ll keep it stylish.
Add interesting accessories in cool monochrome colours.
A lower heel, always looks more modern, then choose refined sunglasses, but with a hint of attitude. A structured bag, says you mean business… don’t overthink it, and don’t over-style it.
The right dress, just does the hard work for you. All you need to do is wear it well.

The jelly sandal is back and this time, it’s grown up. Glossy and nostalgic, it’s the summer shoe that’s going to get noticed.  Forget playground memories… the new wave is softer, sleeker and surprisingly polished. Think pale blue, barely-there straps and that subtle shine that catches the sun as you move.

And the best part? There’s no age limit here. Worn with a breezy cotton skirt, a crisp crochet top, or even a light linen suit, this jelly sandal will bring an effortless edge to everyday dressing.

Cool, fresh and a little more fun than your average flat… it’s exactly the pair you want when Spring dressing starts to feel samey.

Simple, stylish, and slightly off the wall… love it or hate it… the jelly sandal is definitely having its moment.

Jelly Sandals for Every Age

The Puff Sleeve Striped Shirt

There’s something about a striped blouse that never lets you down and this version has it all. With puff sleeves, a soft drape, gathered cuffs and that warm brown tone… it has a flattering shape with a bit more presence than your average classic shirt.
With tailored cream trousers or high-waisted barrel jeans, your proportions will fall easily into place: a fuller sleeve works perfectly with something more structured underneath.
Add a woven shopper, sharp slingbacks and a shell necklace and your whole look will feel effortless but pulled together. It’s the kind of outfit that carries you through a serious meeting and straight out to lunch without needing to change a thing.

The Cream Trench Coat

Finally, the coat that fixes everything.  Throw it over denim, over a dress, or your favourite tailored trousers: even the simplest outfit suddenly looks like you know exactly what you’re doing.

Softer than black, smarter than beige, this cream trench lifts everything without trying too hard. And with a clean, slightly oversized, contemporary cut, you get that effortless, pulled-together feel in seconds. It’s the piece you’ll reach for on those in-between days when nothing else quite works… and once it’s in your wardrobe, you’ll wonder how you ever got dressed without it.
