WHY GO? For A-lister cred. If ever there was an artist whose work is instantly recognisable, it is Picasso. His monumental body of artwork is seemingly never-ending. Just when one exhibition closes, another opens and each introduces something new and stimulating.
Imagine then, the opportunity to actually own a Picasso — which is what is on offer at the esteemed Halcyon Gallery.
Get up close and personal with original lithographs, prints and drawings in this prestigious Bond Street gallery where collectors scan the walls and ordinary mortals can but dream of actually buying something. We can all visit and observe for free though!
From Picasso’s familiar monochromatic faces of his famous wives and lovers, bullfighting scenes and cubist geometrics to the celebrated ceramics that have inspired legions of artists, it’s awesome to see such a variety of work side by side. The artist finally put down his brushes at the age of 90 to achieve legendary status.
Actually owning a precious piece of Picasso’s legacy is what the gallery is offering.
Focusing primarily on etchings, there are 130 artworks on show, and the accompanying background notes (online) give fascinating personal insight into Picasso's vitality and brilliant career.
IN THE KNOW Want more Picasso? Over at Tate Modern, Theatre Picasso is still on show until 12th April 2026. Majoring on Picasso’s fascination with performers — from actors and dancers to bullfighters and entertainers — it's curated as ‘on stage’ and provides a niche look at the great artist’s work from that perspective.
